Seva Thrift Society is a non-profit organization that offers consumers a fusion of pre-loved fashion and household goods from around the world. In ancient India, Seva was believed to help one’s spiritual growth and at the same time contribute to the improvement of a community.

Seva Thrift Society opened their doors in November 2016, incorporating under the Society Act of BC and became a non-profit organization. It is a spacious store filled with a variety of items.

We provide an affordable, cross-cultural shopping experience that supports individuals and charities in the community where we live. Our mandate is to reduce, reuse and repurpose.

We encourage everyone to turn out their closets and share their beautiful Indian garments that have accumulated over the years and to turn them into someone else’s special occasion. Allow another bride to wear the lehenga that you’ll never use again – recycle to a new home and join our ‘give where you live’ movement!

Seva means selfless service – the guiding principle for everything we do at Seva Thrift Store. At Seva, our team of volunteers and staff are devoted to giving back directly to our community. We do this by providing a unique blend of gently used ethnic and western wear, shoes, accessories, and household products at a very low cost through donations from the people who make up our community. We support local charities with the profits earned.

Help keep millions of pounds of usable goods out of our landfills by donating them to SEVA Thrift where we help them find a new home!

All proceeds made from your generous donations go towards supporting local community projects and organizations.

In 2017, our inaugural year, SEVA Thrift was able to support the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at the Surrey Memorial Hospital. Together, we used our proceeds to buy a biliblanket at a cost of $10,000, to help treat neonatal jaundice.  Watch to see how a biliblanket helps premature babies and their families.

    Community Projects SEVA Thrift Supports:
    • Surrey Food Bank through a food drive
    • Local Toy Drive for Surrey Christmas Bureau
    • Gave back to the community at the Surrey Vaisakhi Parade

Our organization exists to serve the community in which we live and we rely on volunteers to sort through donations, replenish the shelves, help customers find what they are looking for, and be part of an enthusiastic and supportive team. SEVA volunteers work selflessly to give back as they can and together we choose which charity will benefit from the net profits of Seva Thrift. This year we are proudly raising funds for Surrey Hospital and Outpatient Care.

To qualify, volunteers must commit to one four hour shift per week.
